Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 2026
Welcome to The Bill Mate. By accessing or using our platform, website, or services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.
1. Service Description
The Bill Mate provides AI-powered financial document processing tools that allow users to scan, extract, organize, and store billing and receipt data. We utilize multimodal artificial intelligence to automate manual data entry. The Service is provided "as is" and we continually update and refine its capabilities.
2. Account Responsibilities
- Authentication: You must create an account via Google or email to access the core features. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.
- Accuracy: While our AI strives for the highest possible accuracy, optical character recognition is not infallible. You are ultimately responsible for verifying the accuracy of the extracted JSON data before relying on it for accounting, tax, or legal purposes.
3. User Conduct and Content
When using The Bill Mate, you agree not to:
- Upload illegal, fraudulent, or malicious documents.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or bypass the security of our application or APIs.
- Use the service in a manner that artificially inflates AI inference costs (e.g., automated scraping, bulk spam uploading). We reserve the right to rate-limit or suspend accounts engaged in abusive API usage.
4. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Service—including the underlying software, UI/UX designs, algorithms, and branding elements—are owned by The Bill Mate. The billing data and receipts you upload remain entirely your property.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties, either express or implied. The Bill Mate does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We specifically disclaim any liability for financial discrepancies arising from AI extraction errors.
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall The Bill Mate or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or accounting errors.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if we determine you have violated these Terms of Service or engaged in fraudulent activity.
8. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
